Welcome to Burken B & B
After closing "Butler Creek Country Inn", Burke and Ken intended to retire but could just not stand the idea of not being able to look after their many repeat clientele so spontaneously opened a new bed & breakfast called "Burken Bed & Breakfast". Their "new" home just west of Brighton on the Apple Route (County Road # 2) is surrounded by mature trees, gardens, flowering shrubs and a brook. The interior of the home is cozy and comfortable yet elegant. This is the place to relax, enjoy the surroundings and explore Northumberland, Quinte and Prince Edward County.
Burken Bed & Breakfast is just 90 minutes east of Toronto, three hours west of Ottawa and four hours west of Montreal. It is easily reached from the 401.
From Toronto: turn off Hwy 401 at exit #497 ( Big Apple/Colborne), go south on County Rd.#25 into Colborne, turn left at County Rd. #2 (downtown Victoria Park and King St.). Continue for 6 km until you come to Barnes Road on your right.
From Ottawa/Montreal: turn off Hwy 401 at exit #509 (Brighton) go south on County Rd. #30 into Brighton and turn right at the first traffic light ( this is Main Street and County Rd. #2). Continue on County Rd. #2 for 6 km until you come to Barnes Road on your left. It is the corner property #14257 with the field stone & brick bungalow.
